So I normally say “no” to three month sessions. Not because I don’t love squishy chubby three month olds, but because I find it a difficult age to photograph. They aren’t as curly as a newborn, and can’t yet sit like a six month old. When I get calls from mother’s of babies at this age, I normally encourage them to book a session a few months later when the baby is sitting. However, for some reason I said “yes” to Little Miss P.’s Mommy and I’m so glad I did. Miss P. was quite content for the entire session. She was happy as a clam sucking on her chubby fingers, clad in nothing but a diaper. I’m almost certain she would have let me take her photograph for hours.
I have to admit, I was a little jealous of this adorable baby I could dress up and photograph frame after frame. Lilah is now impossible to photograph. All she wants to do is run around naked like a little terror leaving a trail of destruction behind her – did I type that? ahem – toddle about discovering the world for the first time. She’s quite lovely and engaged when I don’t have a camera strapped to me, but as soon as she notices me look at her through the viewfinder, she’s off and screaming – so I’ve pretty much given up on photographing her until she’s four or five and a little more civilized. I’ve decided that I will photograph ANY three month old if they are anything like Miss P. Maybe I should start saying “no” to fourteen month olds…
Anyway, I had a great time with this little girlie. The photos in Mommy’s lap are my favourite. Christine and Brian, enjoy your sneak peek. Looking forward to your family session in the summer!
