A few months ago we had our photos taken in London by Ewan Phelan the photographer behind Last Forty Percent Photography. They mainly shoot weddings and engagements, but I was thrilled when I e-mailed Brianna (Ewan’s wife) and they agreed to do a session with us. I had been looking around for a local photographer who would do a candid family session, and I fell in LOVE with Ewan’s images and Brianna’s words on their blog (I posted the link above). Check out the link to see more of their beautiful images, and to read the post that Brianna wrote to go along with our photos. I e-mailed her some incongruous rambings about our life (it was two in the morning!), and she managed to pick through what I had given her and was able to weave my random thoughts into something beautiful and moving. Brianna, we will definitely treasure your words as much as the photos that go along with them.

Ewan, thank you so much for capturing “us” the way we are right now. I have never liked photos of myself, but in these images I actually feel beautiful. I think it’s partly your photography, and partly because I am so happy and so in love with my incredible husband and adorable baby girl, and it shows in my disposition (I don’t even know if that makes sense to anyone else, but it does to me…).  I LOVE the images of Mike laughing. They capture him perfectly and I will always remember what I said to make him laugh at that moment!

Right after the session, I was a little bummed out because I didn’t remember Ewan taking a photo of just Mike and I as a couple (he did), but once I saw the images, I realized that I don’t need a photo of just the two of us…

Now we are three…

Lilah is so much a part of our every waking moment. She fills our lives with joy and reminds us daily of how much we love one another…
